Jeannie Anne Murphy, 41, walked in and then tried to run out of the store, but was shot.

The two robbers ran from the store and headed east on foot.

The male customer who had been assaulted tried to help Murphy, who was taken to a hospital where she died this morning about 7:20 a.m. She had lived in the 300 block of Bethune Drive.

Yet another reason to shoot the dirtbags even if they are armed, but on the way out. It's not over until the dirtbags are dead...dead...dead...dead! Did I mention dead?

What is it with dark hooded sweatshirts and dark jeans? Is this the required uniform for the typical scum bucket street thug? I can't help but keep remembering the words to that Toby Keith/Willie Nelson song "Beer For My Horses" where he says:

"..We've got too much corruption, too much crime in the streets, It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground, Send 'em all to their maker and he'll settle 'em down, You can bet he'll set 'em down..."

There's another line in the song, "Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys, Hang them high in the street for all the people to see.."

Good luck with that. Half the population thinks that it is our (collective) fault they turn out the way they do.

But Ret, when they're running away they're no longer a threat.(sarcasm off)

Sad. I think about walking into a snake pit like this wondering how I'd handle a situation like this.

As far as action when criminals are leaving. I feel quite sure that many here practice/train moving/running in one direction while firing in another. I see no reason to think that criminals are not capable of the same action.

So much for leaving/running if something goes down. If your in the middle of "it" you're in the middle of "it".

Yep, I would say that if they are out the door and trotting across the parking lot, I'd say it's time to let them be on their way.

However, if they are still in the same room as you are or within the confines of the establishment, they are still an immediate threat whether they are facing you or not.
