While I will protect my beer with tooth and nail. I will just be a good witness when it comes to the convience store's beer. I know everone says don't be out at that time of night. The reality is that sometimes I get off at midnight.

Is the store's beer worth getting shot over? I think not. He should have just been a good witness. Now he's lucky to be alive.

Not sure we have enough information to say he acted like a vigilante.... the article says he was shoved to the floor and shot and then returned fire? Might be he and the store employee would be dead if he hadn't acted.

He also entered into a three on one. Unknown if the other two crooks were also armed. It could have turned out even worse for the victim.

    Agreed.

The medical costs alone never mind time off from work, the potential lasting physical effects of the injury along with the mental after effects too.
Over what and for why? Property.
Property that was not his, is insured against theft (!), and is of literally minor value.

Are you guys reading another article on this? From what I can see in the article it simply says he was pushed to the floor and shot and then he returned fire. How do we know he initiated resistance and wasn't simply in the process being executed by the BGs?

Police say three Hispanic men were stealing beer when a customer tried to stop them.

One of the suspects, a teenager, shot the man who tried to intervene. That man also had a gun and returned fire.

Ah, okay. Yep, not the course of action I would take. Let 'em have the beer...
