Attempted robbery while 81 year old man lays flowers at cemetary

    Hard to believe, but true...

..."The Kershaw County man and his wife were spending the day at the country cemetery, which they do several times a year. "Putting flowers on my mother's grave and my aunt's grave," he said.

He may have been surprised, but he was also prepared. "I took my gun out of my pocket," said the man. "When I did, he started firing a couple of shots."...

I don't know if it's more tragic that someone did such a horrible thing, or that I'm not even that surprised that it happened.

There is not really a safe place to be free of 'roaming dirtbags' these days, not even a graveyard...pretty sad.
    Stay armed...even in a cemetry...stay safe!

This article is very short on specifics. For instance, it stated that one man with a gun emerged from the woods, yet there are three in custody? Did this guy manage to fight off all three? Was anyone hit? How were the guys caught?

People have been stealing flowers from cemeteries for years. Upgrading to armed robbery does not surprise me. Next step, they will just shake down the funeral mourners and crack open the casket for jewelry. Less digging that way.

Man, I thought the only thing I needed to be looking over my shoulder for @ the cemetary was Zombies.
What a foolhardy notion that was.

Glad the old guy was able to thwart the knuckledraggers and come away unscathed.
