UGLY: Marine, wife attacked by teens after showing of "Little Fockers"
MANATEE, Fla. (AP) — A group of unruly teenagers attacked a 27-year-old Marine and his wife who had asked them to be quiet during a Christmas night showing of "Little Fockers." Theater management asked them (the kids) to leave and the couple left shortly after that.
The attack happened as the couple left the theater near Bradenton Saturday night. Authorities say the fight attracted about 300 bystanders.
As they exited the theatre just before 10 p.m., the wife was surrounded by about 15 girls who looked as if they were going to attack her, :boese51: the young marine said.
A witness said he had retrieved a firearm from his vehicle and offered to escort the couple to safety. The marine said he told his wife to go with the witness to get her out of harm’s way.
Suddenly seven males then surrounded the marine and began to kick and punch him. He said thanks to his training, he was able to more than hold his own. The thugs were driven back by the ARMED citizen who brandished a firearm to drive back the crowd. The police responded and when they arrived theater management told everybody not holding a ticket to leave. A police officer told several of the punks to leave and they refused. One attacked a police officer and had to be tased and arrested. Another adult female was also arrested for the incident.:twak:
Okay, I also have to wonder how many of the COMBATANTS did the marine drop on his own? My guess is that they'll be remembering for quite awhile what it costs to physically attack a combat experienced US Marine. :dead: :image035:
