This is the very same Wal-Mart we frequent. No doubt me and the wife will be armed to the teeth next time we go there. The cupboard is bare so, we will be going soon.

Lawrence blotter: South Point woman robbed in parking lot

    2010/The Herald-Dispatch

    Herald-Dispatch.com

IRONTON — The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department reports:

A 63-year-old South Point area woman reported last week she was opening the trunk of her vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Fayette Township when a man pulled up in a car and demanded her purse.

She said the man was armed with a handgun and she gave him the purse

I don't know what it is about Wally World, I was just talking to one of my battles and some punk kid tried to rob him outside of one near Ft. Bragg. The kid cut my battle's face but my battle shattered the punks arm

    your battle? Is that buddy?
The Tues before Christmas our nearest Walmart had a lady dragged by the purse strap by some thug in a SUV with covered tags.

Yeah, I didn’t quite get the whole ‘battle’ vernacular either but I surmised it means ‘friend, buddy or the like’. Anyway, Wal-Mart does seem to attract a certain cultural dynamic. I only go there when I’m looking for something specific and have plenty of patients. Seems that some folks struggle with self-check-out machines or are not well versed on counting their own money.

Didn't you notice? He is in the State of Confusion.

I have never heard of this term and it doesn't "fit" the statement. It sounds over used, being used in this manner. It's like he doesn't want anyone to know who "battle" is (brother, sister, friend, cousin, buddy, co-worker).

Another thread with the "always maintain your situational awareness" undertone. Wally-World does attract 'em as Saber said.
Hard to say if situational awareness would've helped here or not but knowing whats going on around you is a good thing.

Anytime you shop at a Wal-Mart, you are participating in the destruction of the American economy and helping China to drink our milkshake. Nobody with an ounce of self-respect has any business being in a Wal-Mart parking lot, period. The sooner they go out of business, the better.

This thread wasn't intended to be a flame-fest against Wal-Mart.

We shop and buy at other stores as well, such as Aldi, Kroger, et al.

The intention was to bring about the awareness that armed robbers can be anywhere, anytime. This just happend to be in a Wal-Mart lot where we have been a time or two and perhaps need to be a bit more aware if we go there in the future.

I'm not a Walmart fan, but they are not the problem, we are. We want it cheap and we want it now.

HK45c, thanks for the reminder concerning SA in parking lots.
