BALTIMORE- UPDATE: Baltimore police told us a few minutes ago that the person shot has been declared brain dead.
I could have told you that about this dirtbag when he decided to rob the shop in the first place. Now he's a dead offender...

Now if only other people could be allowed to carry, lawfully, in Baltimore and MD broadly.

Amen to that sir.
I started my police career in Maryland and I still return to visit my grand daughters (yes and their parents too) several times a year. I am fortunate to have HB 218 that allows me to carry but the citizens of Maryland are at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to being able to exercise their 2-A rights. The voters of the state continue to elect those who could care less about the rights of the people.

The Baltimore Sun reviewed the restaurant in 2007, which offered curried shrimp, oxtail stew and jerk fish.
I can see how this needs to be in the story.
And what the heck are jerk fish?

The Baltimore Sun reviewed the restaurant in 2007, which offered curried shrimp, oxtail stew and jerk fish. The reviewer seemed to like the offerings of Jamaican and Caribbean fare.
NEW INFORMATION:
Det. Kevin Brown, a city police spokesman, said the retired officer is 63 years old. He had been walking out of the carry-out when he encountered man about 25 years old who tried to rob the restaurant. “The retired Officer shot the suspect once,” Brown said in a statement. “The suspect was transported to an area hospital and is clinically brain dead, and not expected to recover as his injuries are non-life sustaining. The suspect’s weapon was recovered at the scene.”
From news article:

I thought that showed a unique sense of humor from the reporter, throwing the bit in about how they reviewed the restaurant, in 2007.
kind of sorta, as if they were taking the killing of a street thug, knuckledragger as nonchalantly as they could.
Hope the retired LEO will be ok, should a civil lawsuit come about,
