nydaily news poll, the anti's are winning MERGEDX3

This is a discussion on nydaily news poll, the anti's are winning MERGEDX3 within the In the News: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly forums, part of the The Back Porch category; I voted, but that is one poorly worded poll question. Almost like the editor has an agenda. Hmmm, no, that couldn't be the case..........

Poll ResultsWhat do you think of current gun laws in the United States?
Current laws are too strict. Any infringement upon gun owners' rights is an infringement upon the 2nd amendment. 37%
Current laws are not strict enough. We need to regulate access to deadly weapons. 62%

Funny how we all love the polls that mirror our views, and find fault with them when they don't.

I agree that most polls are pointless, Yet, we can not allow ourselves to be silent on this matter. I just finished writing my Government representatives. Hope that everyone else does the same.

Turn the election's in 2014 to a "2A Revolution". It will serve as a 1994 refresher not to "infringe" on our Second Amendment. We know who they are now.........SEND 'EM HOME. Our success in this will be proportional to how hard we work to make it happen.

It was worded that way purposely.

If you don't believe how much the wording can effect the outcome of a poll, look here

Same paper, one of the same authors, and another poll, Wow what a difference!

Arrghhhh! Why do any of you care?! These polls are meaningless, they have no impact on decision makers or the public. The papers put them online to make their sites more "interactive" and make their readers feel like they are a part of the discussion. Just ignore this garbage.

That and they get hit counts, which helps them justify their existence.

I don't get too worked up over badly worded polls. Those types of questions remind me of "When did you stop beating your wife?"

To those of you who are saying the poll is worded badly. I disagree. I selected the first option, " Current laws are too strict. Any infringement upon gun owners' rights is an infringement upon the 2nd amendment." I firmly believe the current gun laws are too restrictive. For instance, every time a state of emergency is declared in NC, we Carolinian's could technically be charged for carrying our handgun while off of our properties.

If you give an inch, they will take a mile.
