My High School journalism class taught us to use 4 quick questions to evaluate any newspaper story. They still work for me. SSRC
[1] Significance? . .or is it insignificant?
[2] Source? . . . where did this info come from?
[3] Reliable?
[4] Complete?
This and many 'news' stories don't pass.
I had no idea how heartless I was this weekend I went to a gun show in NC, just a few states away from that terrible accourance, while I was already wearing a gun I shamlessly bought a new Glock while I was there. I hope I can some day be forgiven...........
Just goes to prove that one nut with a gun, is just that, one nut with a gun. 7,000 at the gun show and no incident!

And yes the article made it sound like all the gun nuts, tea partiers, fox news fans, and Palin fans in Arizona said "hey lets celebrate a week since the shooting and have a gun show! We can get 100's of vendors here in no time flat and aw shucks the closest we can get is 13 miles, darn that'll have to do. So much so that it is beginning to become a general crime story repository that is really not the focus of this forum. If you come across news items that have some real application to concealed carry, open carry, successful (or unsuccessful) armed self defense please feel free to post them, but "general crime" stories, not associated with self defense in any way should be avoided. Likewise for stories of crime in countries other than the US.
