    GOOD: Metro ATL carrier stops assault/robbery on third party

    Although the local news station does their best to imply that the person involved carries a gun because he's a security guard and was on duty at the location of the attack, it is fact that he is a licensed citizen just like anyone else and was not obligated at all to intervene on behalf of the victim. The security company he owns is not premises security; the fact that he was armed and present has nothing to do with his business.

    The last thing the reporting station wants to do is help sow the idea that an armed citizenry is an effective deterrent to crime.
