something to think about... you can't be ready/hi-alert... everyday... all the time... and everywhere. A Police Precent with open carry people/officers and Chambered weapons, and still four people shot and then eventually the gunman was killed. Vest and quick medical attention probably saved lives since most gunshot victims don't die from that actual gunshot, but from bleeding out. Brain freeze of an extraordinary trauma situation played a part in reaction by officers.
Here's an example brain freeze, your Brain can't believe what your eyes are seeing... Notice no one is reaching for, or drawing their weapons upon the Target being hit... This was a high profile situation in a somewhat secured place... Police Garage.
These type of scenarios are just something to think about as we go about our day, even with a weapon strapped on our side. Reactions are not always precise with fluid movement. I not trying to make a right or wrong points here, i'm trying to point out reactions that no one talks about, that actually happen in trauma situations. The officers were lucky, more news will follow on this incident.
