"It's hard to believe something like that could happen here."

Although the police department states this incident does not appear to be random, I thought some of you may find interest in the quote. Just because the community has a gate access, does not mean the bad guys can not get in. Violent crime can happen anywhere, even in apparently nice neighborhoods. This is the second shooting in two days within about 3ish miles of my house, an relatively nice area that has not seen this type of activity in quite some time(except for the crazy lady who shot up the Publix down the road last year!)

"A man was shot and killed in Tarpon Springs late Sunday night.

Police are investigating the shooting, which took place at the Anclote Point townhomes on Flying Fish Lane in Tarpon Springs shortly after 10:30 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found the 33-year-old man shot to death. They said the shooting does not appear to be random.

    But people are still concerned.

"This is usually pretty safe over here," said Robert Koebler, a mail carrier. "It's got the gated access and everything. It's hard to believe something like that could happen here."

The name of the victim has not been released pending the notification of next of kin.

Gated communities are like locked doors, they just keep the honest person honest. Thugs and scum couldn't care less if it has a gate around it.

Something usually said by the person that last week said "why do you need a gun?"
I'd rather be lucky than good any day

There's nothing that will change someone's moral outlook quicker than cash in large sums.

Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. Because you can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper.
