So the dude actually being robbed drew. That tells me that there may not have been anyone else in the shop.

All the gun stores I've been too ALWAYS have at least two people out front, and they don't stand together, probably for this exact reason.

I was at the LGS today, I actually took note. There were five working, never more than two together and usually at least one more or less behind or very near cover. I'd never really paid attention before this thread. There was also a uniformed deputy in the store and an off duty state trooper, I felt well protected.

My LGS always has at least 5 armed employees at any time plus a few LEO's usually. There is always a wide range of fully automatic weapons behind the counter and on and off duty LEO's. I just cant picture anyone trying to rob it. Seems like I saw a movie starring Richard Pryor where he tried to rob a gun store, cant remember the name of it though.

It happened to a gun store about 7 miles from me. They got away with alot of guns. They were caught weeks latter, but not all of the guns were recovered.

This story actually gets even better yet. Not only did the thief leave $40 on the counter, but the .357 Magnum revolver that he drew was unloaded. The cylinder was totally empty.

The reason why the clerk felt so comfortable drawing his own pistol, despite having a revolver pointed right at him, WAS BECAUSE HE NOTICED ALL OF THESE EMPTY CHAMBERS, AND REALIZED THAT HE WAS BEING ROBBED WITH AN UNLOADED HANDGUN!!

This robber truly deserves a Darwin award. He had best try to find a new line of work.

Here is an additional news report, taking note that the clerk recognized that the revolver was unloaded:

I guess that the moral of this story is don't rob a gun store with an unloaded revolver??

This robber is actually quite lucky to still be alive.

A gun store was robbed in broad daylight in L.A. several years back. None of the gun store employees did jack.

In L.A. I can imagine that, in LA (the state) I can't.

I asked the owner of my LGS for the price of a glock 26 once and he replied "Free if you can make it out the door", I didn't choose that option but I'm sure it would've ended poorly.

All the ones I go to the employess are all visibly armed and I see very distinct signs of available long guns in hiding. DUMB on that BG part.

There have been two people try to rob a local gun store in the past 3 years. On both occasions it was the same gun store. AND, the LAST gun store anyone who knows anything around here would want to try to rob...can't fix stupid.

Guessing it didn't take long to figure out that trying to rob a gun store was a bad idea My LGS has any where from 5-7 employees working there and their all armed mostly with 1911's. Can't wait to tell them about these knuckleheads
