[CBS] 2 Hurt When Man Fires Gun at Gun Show

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) – Police say a man who’d been drinking accidentally fired his .45 caliber handgun at a gun and knife show inside the Evansville National Guard Armory, slightly injuring a 72-year-old man and 16-year-old boy.
It happened Saturday at the Tri-State Gun and Knife Show.
The Evansville Courier & Press says 30-year-old Joshua Wilkinson of Boonville is charged with criminal recklessness.
Police say he removed a round from the gun and applied a flex tie before entering. Show organizer Tom Allman says despite a sign banning loaded weapons, Wilkinson cut off the band and inserted a clip.
Police say Wilkinson had a 0.05 percent blood alcohol level. Indiana sets the level for drunkenness at 0.08 percent.
There’s no listed telephone number for Wilkinson, and he couldn’t be reached for comment.

Way to go, guy. I applaud your idiocy. Saw this on the news, and thought I would share. Stuff like this doesn't help the CCW crowd look very good...

I guess he missed the safety rule that says alcohol and guns don't mix.I personally think he needs some jail time, his actions here would get him charged and revocation of his carry permit

Just like in a car accident, unfortunately, the drunk walks away while others are hurt.

Maybe if he had inserted a magazine instead of a "clip" none of this would have ever happened.

Will the media ever get that distinction correct between a clip and a magazine?

Sadly this is one of the ones that as an instructor you hope won't slip through the cracks but sometimes does. I have 99% that are not like this idiot but he is the one that people will reference when it comes to gun ownership.

And this, is a prime example of why we see NO LOADED WEAPONS signs at gun stores and shows.

So he was not LEGALLY drunk!!! SO WHAT! I hope they charge this guy with everything they can. Then I hope the victims go after him in civil court and take him for every nickel he has or ever will have. What a tool!!!!!

For this jerk to be measured by the same ruler as me or any other Law Abiding CCW holder is obscene. But as others have said someone will jump right out there and use this example to further their gun control agenda and or laws governing gun shows.
