    Bad, Bad, Bad.

    BAD

A friend of mine wanted to take the Basic Pistol Course (NRA) from me, but was short of cash. She is single and had just broken up with her boyfriend. I let her into the class with just paying the cost of student materials.

Got an E-mail a few hour ago from one of her relatives. It appears that she committed suicide by firearm a few days ago.

What a loss. She was always such a ray of sunshine whenever I talked to her.

I guess I'm looking for absolution....I had no part in it, did I?

You don't need to take a class to be able to take your life...

    Just my $0.02

Not your fault, there were issues to begin with to push her to that point.

Even if YOU shoot someone, if that is brought about by their actions, it is not your fault they got shot.

Sir, unless you purchased the gun/pistol and ammo, loaded it, chambered the round, pointed it at her, placed her hand and finger on the trigger, and then helped her pull the trigger...I would say that you were not responsible for what happened to her in any way, shape or form. It's truly unfortunate that she took her own life in this manner, but if she had not done so by a firearm, it most certainly would have been by another method.

I cannot imagine how her family feels and is dealing with this...

Is it sad, tragic, senseless and irrational? Yes. Is it in anyway your fault, absolutely not.
