NC man open carrying involved in shooting

Ouch! Article says the gun was not concealed. At least he was prepared and willing. Don't mess with old guys!

When Thomas stopped and got out his car with his fists balled, Moser shot Thomas in the groin, Atkinson said.

Thank goodness his gun was properly registered. No wait, huh?

So I guess this means Thomas won't be growing in the goin anymore.
Is it me or did I hear the Reporter say Thomas was shot in his growing area?

Well, at least he carried a caliber that will allow the young man a chance to rethink his anger issues.

Had he approached me like that I'm afraid it would have been fatal. Big difference between a 45 and a 32 wound.

Don't mess with us old guys!

If I understand NC law correctly strong hands are not considered deadly weapons. The old man could be charged.

Sounds like Thomas was about to play a game of "KNOCK OUT" and Moser didn't want to play! Remember the elderly guy who was killed by one hit to the face as a result of this "game"? I think he can justify this shoot should he have to.

I think the force was justifiable. The guy was yelling obscenities as he drove by. Then, he made a conscious choice to get out and make a physically threatening gesture towards someone who was visibly armed. It's pretty safe to assume he was moving towards the gentlemen in a threatening manner. If he wasn't just plain crazy, then he may have been drunk or on something and I would have made the same choice. If the force used wasn't justifiable, then they might as well not allow CC or OC and start buring honest people.

The moron was lucky I wasn't the shooter. I wouldn't have shot him that low with my firearm. He would have a .357 sized hole in his chest.

67 vs 24. I think we have a good case of disparity of force. Hopefully the shot was enough to prevent the scumbag's genes from re-entering the pool.

I thought bandits cringed and ran at the sight of open carry? I guess this dirtbag did not get that memo...
