To be honest it sounds like BG either had a fake gun,or he wasn't looking for a murder charge,There are home invasions that end up a lot worse than this even when the people comply.If I feel threatened enough to aim a shotgun at an armed home invader I'm not gonna wait and see what his next move is.
Ya' hate to think about what would've happened had not the grandson been there AND/OR did not know where the home defender was.
For curiosity's sake where does this congressman stand on gun rights and has he since changed his tune? Sounds like he got lucky to me that his grandson was there and knew where the shotgun was.

-I wonder what Boswell's record is on gun control...if he's anti, I bet he applies for a CCW permit.:yup:
-The media sure played up the attack on the AZ congresswoman...guns are BAD, BAD, BAD, but where a gun helped prevent a worse crime the media will probably be:ziplip::ziplip::ziplip:...I'm just sayin'...:image035:
I looked at his record - although he is a Dem, he is fairly pro-gun. He gets an A from the NRA and clearly supports gun rights, but did not vote to reduce the waiting time from 3 days to 1 day at some point in his career.

The congressman suffered a broken rib as he went for the gun and he, his daughter, and the BG went tumbling down the stairs.
And the congressman is lauding the "grit and determination" of his family. They're all lucky that either the gun wasn't loaded or the perp was really worried about a murder rap.

You don't normally have local, state and feds involved in an average home invasion.
