1. The first story is (sadly) to be expected when a large gathering of AA males get together in the city.

2. The second story sounds more like a "professional" hit, in that, rather than doing a driveby, the shooter actually got out of the vehicle. Given the specifics, there must be witness(es), however, the article neglects to indicate the race of the shooter which is pretty typical (politically correct) reporting for the local media here.

A male subject, described as having a thin build, medium height, unknown age, wearing a black headkerchief, black t-shirt and white and tan checked shorts exited the back seat of the vehicle and shot Mr. Odle several times.

Newspapers will almost always stay PC in descriptions of the suspect. We can eliminate women and midgets as the shooter.

It happened at a large party at the fieldhouse early Sunday morning,

"early Sunday morning." = 3am Saturday night.
How do you schedule a "large party" at a fieldhouse?

With all due respect to the local high school gymnasium, Joe Dumars' Fieldhouse and the Bayou Adventure are hard to beat for a school or church group all night party. More info on story #2. Shooter is what/who we've come to expect around these parts. From the video, it "sounds" like the victim was upstanding guy, but who knows. Being armed and aware is essential.
