Not so sure about cuffing the guy, tho. That is getting too close, alone.

A CHL holder with handcuffs is one step away from playing COP,I wonder if he had his handy dandy CCW badge also
Cuffs? Hmm, I'd rather carry extra mags. I don't plan on a situation where I'm making an arrest; only arresting the situation.
I'd not get that close to the BG. Too much of a risk of having him get hold of my weapon.
Let real LEO cuff him.
Huh? :confused:Quote:

So what you are saying is if a LEO was legally attempting to handcuff you, you would do everything in your power to resist.
If this is what you are saying I would suggest you rethink your statement.
There are more than enough LEO's out there who are prepared to deal with that type of behavior.
Resisting a lawful arrest just adds charges onto the offender.
OS
I have "let" LEO's cuff me on more than one ocassion. If you are reasonable and polite, things go smoothly and mistakes get worked out quickly.
Resist and you're in for a world of hurt even if it was a mistake in the first place. LEO are cuffing you for their own safety, something I wish on them
in mass doses. I don't want to make anybody with the legal authority to use force against me to feel any more nervous than they already are.
More choices. Some people go directly to jail, others go to the hospital first, then jail.
:argue:If your really polite they will let you sit in the front seat with the shiny bracelettes.
Resisting arrest Hmmm? Gonna have to say that is a loose, loose situation. If I'm fighting Law Enforcement that means something has gotten way out of hand.
Although this particular incident turned out well, others may follow his example and end up dead or in jail for their actions. I wonder how many CHL holders carry handcuffs around? I mean, that can't be common. I would hope anyone who does has at least had some training similar to law enforcement so that they will know how to do it correctly.
Glad this worked out fine. But, I'm not a cop, and don't play one on TV. My self-defense sequence kinda goes like this: 1. Be aware 2. If something is about to go down, do I have an exit? 3. If something IS going down attempt to make it to cover/concealment 4. Return fire 5. IF I'm still breathing, get away from BG 6. Call 911 7. Then keep my pie hole closed
BTW I don't own any cuffs.
