Dog draws fire as Norfolk owner escapes would-be robber | HamptonRoads.com | PilotOnline.com
Robin Driskell only glimpsed the man over her shoulder Thursday morning after her dog, Casey, started barking.
The man fired a shot at the dog, and Driskell darted inside, through the back door of Check Cashing & More, and slammed it shut.

Hard to beat a 'dog alarm'!
Give that canine a steak!
"That I cannot do."

Sounds like a Robbery that was interrupted by a dog alerting.People are creatures of habit, they tend to do the same routine day after day, people looking to rob you will notice the routine, only 2 reasons I can think of for going out a back door, taking out trash,or smoking a cigarette.I've seen numerous employees of restaurants etc. at night during cleanup taking smoke breaks outside which means unsecure door for entry
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
