In all honesty, I don't know if I'd be able to refrain from a well placed PIT. I'm not going to shoot from my vehicle but I will match deadly force with deadly force if I perceive them as a continuous threat.

Distance is your friend. I'd stop, move outta the way, whatever I could to get that wing-nut off my tail-lights and out of HIS range. No PIT's or firing from my moving vehicle (if I could help it).....and no persuit from 'a safe distance'. I'm calling the cops and letting him go.

This thug just fired into another vehicle on the interstate for no 'real' or apparent reason......he don't care WHO gets hurt. The chances of someone getting hurt is too great to chance.

Engaging with my sidearm, in my vehicle, on the interstate, is the last thing I'd do if I could help it.

As for the write-up, I'm suspecting there's 'more' to this incident than's being reported. Smells an awful lot like a road-rage incident similar to what happened down this way a few days ago.

Come on up, we could use all the help we can get:

Detroit Police Seek to Counter Shootings, Slayings

By my count, 15 shootings in 24 hrs, then 13 more the following two days. That's 28 shootings from Friday to Monday.

One more (appears to be innocent) guy getting shot while driving. Unfortunately, this one did not turn out well for the driver.

I'd be willing to bet it was a road rage incident and we're only hearing part of the story.

And this would matter how? Would the fact that a guy shot at someone because he was upset about their driving be worse than if they fired the shot because they wanted to see themselves on the evening news?
Unless the reason behind the shot was self-defense or some other reason that would prove the shooters innocence I could not care less why they did it.

Slam on my brakes and brace myself for the impact & the air bag deployment.
