BAD/GOOD: Home owner pistol whipped/Used firearm to defend himself

The title of this story SHOULD read, "Homeowner defends himself and daughter with gun", instead of, Intruders pistol-whip father, man's daughter hides in basement and calls police

Also, this is another case where the homeowner would have been justified for shooting the intruder(s) in the back. Too bad he missed.

I believe that they accosted him outside and then forced him into the house.

I've taken firm hold of the concepts, "If it's not on you, you don't have it." and "If you can't get your hands on it when you need it, it's no good to you." He's lucky that hidden nearby was close enough this time.

I'll bet he carries 24/7 from now on...

I can't believe he didn't take their picture.. and I'll bet he's sorry he missed the target too.

I'm glad they know who the suspect is, and I hope they find him... soon.

Captain Obvious agrees, but wonders if that is Lt. Pinkerton's professional opinion or if he's just shooting from the hip?

I would say "shooting from the lip"

    That's just me however.

This victim was darned lucky those punks didn't kill him.
