Right, Capt.Seipenko! You worry about my safety, you provide men to guard my home 24/7, you handle it for me, Capt..

Frankly Cap, I ain't concerned, I'm prepared. You can pick up the bodies, and they won't be me or mine. You won't have to go looking for leads on who they were, or who shot them.

Just goes to show you, you need to be prepared to defend yourself. We try, but we get the calls mostly after the fact.

The difference between a war story and fairy tale. A fairy tale starts out, "once upon a time"! A war story starts out, "this ain't no s*** man"!

Capt. Seipenko: "This ain't no s*** man, we don't have a reason for neighbors to be concerned for their safety yet"!

I would agree re the Capt's platitude. Once you get above Sgt or Lt, pretty much all you are going to hear is the party line.

On the other hand, imagine the reactions if the Capt's statement was, "There are dangerous criminals working in this area and we do not have enough officers to protect everyone, we recommend that everyone arm themselves and be prepared to defend their family."

First thing to happen would be the anti guners wetting their pants.

I do think everyone has the right to be armed, BUT some people having guns scare the crap out of even me!

This would be appropriate and exactly what the SCOTUS has said and ruled. Nothing alarming in that statement unless one has had his/her head up his/her exhaust pipe for years. (I know that you have not been in such a condition).

    ^^^^^^^^^Well, ^^^^^^^^^

You'd probably just see more of these signs in Dearborn Heights,,,,,,

And I would hope people would applaud the Captains honesty, if he told the public straight out, that "we've got a problem, were trying to catch them, but ultimately, YOUR personal safety begins with YOU, the residents."

What would be so damning about that statement??????

I too would applaud such honesty by the Capt, but most who reach the level of Capt are not that dumb. He would be reprimanded or fired by the Chief and or Mayor and city fathers.

A few more details about this case. It appears it was NOT a random, quick "smash and grab"-type event.

Unfortunately, the kids reparations will probably include a lifetime of bitter violence and violent retaliation. That's how they'll recover: angry, mean and probably armed.
