Very good to hear no one else was injured.

I love stories with happy endings. Wish the would have listed what more about the shot though. Maybe something like a single .45 round to the dome.

    No one important, anyway.

A man was shot and killed after he tried to rob the Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society Saturday afternoon.

Detroit Police Sgt. Eren Stephens said the incident occurred at about 4:20 p.m. at the agency’s office on 13500 block of Joseph Campau. The Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society is a facility for stray, injured and neglected animals.

Stephens said the suspect was armed and demanded money. An 88-year-old man working at the agency, who had a permit to carry a gun, shot the suspect, police said.

No one was injured. Police are reviewing the case and have both weapons.
They need to give the old man his gun back...no telling how many more crimes he could prevent. BRAVO...well done Mister.

He was just doing his duty. He put down a rabid animal just like a Veterinarian would.

Return his firearm, pat him on the back and say "job well done."

This hero is on his way to making armed robbery the deadliest profession in America.

    Oh yeah!

I did a search for Michigan Anti-Cruelty Society. Top notch non-profit since the 30's.
I'll be mailing them a little donation. I'm sure the guy would appreciate it and feel a little supported from the ccw/chl folks.

I see no reason for police to hold the gun. What do they expect to discover? Are they going to question the gun? Do they think the gun is going to tell a story that doesn't match up to the old man's statement?
