That was a pretty poorly written story, but I got the gist. I like the outcome - GG wins, BGs don't.

I agree, I guy just met invited the Mrs. and me over for dinner to get to know us.
At some point he asked if I ever shot a gun, and I down played but said yes. He invited me to the range (never with him, but that is another story)
He preceded to tell me his neighbor has a gun collection and where the safe is, the kinds of guns he has and their values.
At that point I knew I had to aggressively protect the fact that I carry. There are somethings you just don't share until you get to know someone. I'm not real secretive, but this guy would probably tell everyone in our mutual circles.

Good job for the homeowner! Another good story showing the NEED to know exactly what's going on before getting involved, for those of us that are on the "I'm going to help" side of the fence. The story states the homeowner ran out on his porch and shot twice at the guys running away, what if you were a nearby neighbor who didn't know who lived in that house? All you see is a guy shooting at two unarmed people running away...I can see that scenario over in the scenarios thread already.

He's lucky he could get loose and get the gun, he should have had his own, oh, wait, it's Chicago, Illinois!

Posted the name and address of the BG, and not the homeowner
Did not label the BG as the "Victim"
Did not paint the homeowner as the villain.
