So far, but you can never trust somebody who would shoot another human being. Keep an eye on him, he'll slip up sooner or later. Sheesh.
I sure hope the "shooter" has invoked his right for legal counsel!

Damn. If someone breaks into my home to rob me, armed or not, shouldn't I have the right to defend myself? Apparently not...apparently they'll charge me with manslaughter instead.
Since the facts of that case aren't present, I'll reserve judgement.
On this case, however, it doesn't get any more black and white than this. With the facts presented, I don't know how even a gun hating liberal could spin this in a bad light. (Of course I don't think that way, so I suppose it's possible)

Nicely, what with Castle Doctrine becoming more prevalent, hopefully this brand of B.S. will start to be a thing of the past. We'll see.

In my neck of the woods plain clothes officers would NEVER make entry without uniformed officers, in fact they usually have them go in first. They would also put their "POLICE" marked jacket or wind breakers on. They don't want to get shot either!

Justice. Sweet justice. The invaders got what they deserved.
More of this happens, less crime happens. It serves as disincentive for the less stupid criminals. It reduces the numbers of the more stupid criminals.
This simple, God-given right is denied so many. Not just in England (one of my favorite rants), but in Washington Freakin' D.C., capitol of the Home of the Free and the land of the Brave (another favorite rant).

I'm all for the police and being tough on bad guys, but remember... anyone can yell "POLICE, SEARCH WARRANT!" as they kick down your door.

Thus, technically, they can "legally" shoot you full of holes 1sec later. Doesn't make it right. Doesn't put Humptey back together, either. It does mean you'll be dead and your estate generally won't have have much chance in court ... 'cause it was a "legal" entry and all. (Had a good friend gunned down by Police that way, some years back, while cleaning his rifle at his kitchen table, in a sad example of Long Beach, California's finest, courtesy of the Cherry Hill division.)Police have to announce their presence before they enter.
