It sounds to me like they were doing it more for thrills than anything else. Still stupid.

See, that's exactly why I'm armed everywhere I go. I ain't taking off my clothes for 3 guys on the street.

One should not bring a knife to a gunfight.

Sounds like three perverts to me....

Seriously though, I'm glad the guy wasn't hurt.. I agree, it sounds like some kinda sick prank to me, but being that they used a knife to pull it off, it'd been awesome if the guy had been wearing a smartcarry with a firearm under his trousers....

Here's my jeans, with a little something extra BANG!

Its a smart tactic, by taking his clothes they get his money, his phone, any spare wallets used as decoys, and leave the victim naked and humiliated on the street with no means to contact police immediately at hand. Somewhat smart criminals

    With a knife?

Not too smart IMO... What if the guy was armed...

How far is it from where he was held-up, to Spartanburg?

.WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are looking for three suspects after a man was forced to take off his clothes Friday night during an armed robbery in Walterboro.

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. -- The Spartanburg County Sheriff is known for speaking his mind, and at a news conference on Monday, he didn't hold back his anger and frustration after a woman was attacked in a park over the weekend.

I think that in most cases, it would be self inflicted punishment to tell someone to take their clothes off!

Three on one is no easy fight add in a big knife and the odd can be very bad.

Any CC person will have to be very SA and well trained to come out a winner here.

Speed and accuracy will win or loose the day, and since you will FIGHT AS YOU TRAIN no training = very little or no fight!!!!!!!

I think the most important thing to change the outcome of this event would be SA backed up with a good CC firearm with determination and training in the hands of the intended victim.

    No arguments here.

And my training and mindset aside, my gun would be Bark'n like the hammer of Thor. In all likelihood, there would be at least one, maybe two "poop trails" running down the sidewalk next to a pool of blood from the one holding the knife and anyone who as standing next to him.
