(Memphis 11/11/14) A teenager tried to rob a pizza delivery driver, but ended up getting shot by his intended victim.
Teenager is that supposed to evoke pity for the criminal; teenager he was an 18 or 19 year old man (18 or 19 because the story is not clear); he commited a crime and is now dealing with the consequences.

According to the gov't and the Brady bunch, you're a child until 26.

Glad pizza guy fought back. Somebody ought to hire him for his guts. Maybe POTUS.

    A wonderful story.
The right person got shot, the writer got the victim right, and it appears the Pizza delivery dude won't be charged.

    Whats not to like?

It is nice to read something written by a journalist who knows who the victim is. Congratulations, Mr. Lipford.

I once heard a tv interview of the mother of a thug that was shot and killed by police after pointing a loaded weapon at a police officer. She was livid because she felt that her son, a good young man by the way, would never have actually SHOT the policeman.

This kind of sensationalism in the media to me just serves to stir the pot and ignore common sense. Personal responsibility, and a simple sense of right and wrong fall by the wayside in favor of maintaining the status quo. By the way, the Latin definition of status quo is "the mess that we're currently in".

For those who say it's impossible to draw against the drop, this just proves it's not true.

You do have the element of surprise on your side. The very fact you are being targeted for robbery means the bad guy is not expecting any resistance.

This is very important. Common thugs just don't go up and rob someone they think is going to fight or shoot back.

If I had to guess, this pizza guy is no one special. No Wyatt Earp, Jelly Brice, or Rob Letham. Just an ordinary guy, like us, who had long ago decided to carry a gun, and probably no doubt thought very long and hard how he was going to respond, and what he would do if he was ever robbed. He won!

Congrats on the pizza guy! Job well done. He got to go home after work!
