School trespasser had gun on campus

Police: School trespasser had gun on campus | News - Home

This happened at the high school my daughter attends. This is something that would've ended much diffrently given a slightly diffrent circumstance.

Things like this happen fairly often. Thankfully, most of the time no one gets hurt. Walking into public buildings that are often open to the public (by law) makes for some unsafe situations when people choose not to obey the laws.

I'm guessing the guy was not allowed to have firearms at all. No mention of a police record, but the reaction says a lot. He's the kind of person I worry about, not the majority of parents and staff.

This could have been a very ugly situation. Glad that it ended with the thug leaving the school and not having the pistol on his person when police caught up with him.

I don't know, probably couldn't have done too much harm with a ".9 mm".

    Hasta la vista, dirt bag.

Problem is, he shouldn't have had the gun in the first place, so the charges he now faces which would prevent him from legally posessing a gun will have little or no effect on his future posession of a gun.

I'm thinking we should give the JROTC folks real guns and bullets.

side note:--- Doesn't charging someone with "terroristic threats" for something like this trivialize the term "terrorism"?

That's a good question Tzadik, I think it does do something to twist the definition of that term but I'm not sure what.

The think I'd worry about is a misuse of that charge, or that term. Identifying an incident as being tied to terrorism could become a LE tactic could have some very negative repurcussions.

Would be interesting to know if this fine young gentleman actually graduated from that or any high school. And, if so, Why? Hasn't the brain of flatulence.
    All that said....
    It could be worse.

He had one of the two firearms on him when apprehended. The smaller 9mm was in his pocket at the time of arrest.

If only there was a sign to save the children he never would have trespassed, fleed, made threats or had the gun. Unfortunately, he's the reason it's difficult for the rest of us to pick our kids up from school at the end of the day.

Am I the only one that noticed the journalist typed [0].9mm instead of 9mm?

Myers was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, one count of terroristic threats, one count of having a weapon on school property and one count of criminal trespassing.

Wow! That's a lot of 'counts'...I doubt that Mr. Myers can count that high.

Camden County High School is just a hop, skip, and a jump accross the border from Jax in Georgia. Aside from the Naval Submarine base, there ain't much there.

Regardless, I carry my spare(s) no matter which side of the border I find myself.
