If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand
What everyone else said - well written - great story and yes, the outcome was fortunately as it should have been.

First post. Hi, everyone!
Yeah, great story all right. Did she ever question her, 'other behavior' that night? Single woman, out alone, a little drunk, and in condition white? Gun's in purse where it doesn't belong. Purse is in car which makes things even worse.
Why does every woman I know keep her gun in her purse, anyway? I asked my wife this question, once; know what she said? 'It's uncomfortable, and it makes me look fat!'
Who else would any self-respecting rapist choose! Me thinks she should have been expecting to be attacked! I'd be interested to know at what point during the evening the rapist began tracking her. Did she recall him from earlier that day? Where was he, and how far away, when he began the attack? Sounds like he caught her, 'cold' doesn't it!
Apparently Annie does not know the answers to any of these questions, herself. This time around she's a lucky girl that rapist imagined himself to be in control and put his guard down.
Bet he was surprised as all Hell when those first shots went off!

Glad the story ended well for Anne. Thanks for sharing.
It comes a time in your life when you run across someone you should have never @#$$% with. Allow me to introduce myself!
Good read, great outcome, great CC reminder! Thank you, Rob!
"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
Amazing.... Thanks for posting it!
You have to make the shot when fire is smoking, people are screaming, dogs are barking, kids are crying and sirens are coming.

It's always to hear a story about one of the good guys coming out on top in an encounter with the bad guys.
Thanks for posting that!
