She couldn't believe it!
It’s predictable. People even say it out loud, “I can’t believe this is happening to me.” I couldn't believe what I was hearing on the phone.
I got a call from "Annie's" mother several months after Tucker and I taught her to shoot. Her mother said, "Annie's been in a shooting." My heart stopped.

The story was beautifully presented Rob.
I am so glad that I clicked on it.
Way To Go Annie!
You sure can be proud of yourself too Rob.
Wow! Thanks! That was a very scary moment with a good outcome.
Tucker and I recall it over adult beverages once in a while, but at the time it was very serious and grounded us fully in reality.

Rob,
What a terrific outcome. I'm glad the lady was able to come to terms with what she had to do. I hope my wife or I never have to face the situation, but if we do, I also hope we'll handle it as well as Annie did.
Thanks for the posting.

Definitely a good reminder of how quickly things can turn ... for the worse or for the better. Often, it's completely within our control as to which way it turns. Good for her. The grand jury panned and gave the nod that it was kosher. Damn right. She was likely about to walk to her death, with the steps the BG was taking. The BG now has a lot of explaining to do, to ol' St. Pete. Good for her!

Exactly what should have happened in that situation. I am glad that it turned out the way it did.
But I am happier still that she had the legal opportunity to arm and save herself.
We must always remember that there are people out there who would deny Annie that revolver and the rest of us our carry pieces.
They would prefer her raped and dead and us robbed and dead.

This is a prime example of why we ccw. I am constantly reminded that the person most responsible for my safety is the person I see looking back at me in the mirror every morning when I brush my teeth. Annie is alive and well because she had the opportunity to defend herself.
