I'm sure it was the shock wave... even if he'da missed... the "following vortex" of the mighty .22 would have knocked him to the ground at the very least...

Fact is, those little devil .22s can bounce around quite a ways in your insides... and never find their way out...

I hope the other perps get charged with felony murder.

I do like that law, and some states have it... Don't know about Maine... But it's one of the most common sense laws on the books... That way, if it is a valid shooting, someone has to pay the price... if one of the perps is found guilty of murdering his partner in crime, the defensive shooter is not the cause of the BGs death... saves a civil suit.

See, its all about shot placement. If you can put that round in a hip, bounce it off the femur, nick the femoral artery, then ricochet it off the pelvis sending it to the heart? One stop shot, every time. I looked online but couldnt find any targets showing a bad guy with a gun that includes the hip region.

Hermon, Maine. Where men are men, sheep are scared and twenty two's rule the night. (Ok, mid morning but night sounds better.)

Really a whole lot of charges if the DA wants to get creative.

Doesn't surprise me that the .22 did that much damage. About 15 years ago I had a case where a 16 year old shot a guy with a .22 rifle in the leg and nicked the artery. The guy nearly bled out. That just goes to show ya that if the human body gets hit with a piece of metal (no matter how big) moving at high speed all sorts of bad things can happen.

That is WAY cool but If I towed it to the range there would be a line of cars a mile long following me and wanting to see the action.

I watched "Saving Reagan on TV last night. He is lucky to be alive after getting shot with a 22,they didn't even know he had been shot until they put a chest tube in and the blood kept running out, they thought he may have broken a rib when the SS shoved him in the car. After they started looking for a possible entry wound, they found a tear in his skin, there was no external bleeding thru the bullet hole.
