Goes to show that every threat doesn't end in shots fired. It sounds to me like this guy was looking to go back to prison where life is much easier as far as having no responsibilities like rent/utilities/work etc

BG is lucky it wasn't me. I don't have a child, but I do have a wife. Had he approached me alone with a knife he might have gotten a warning, but coming anywhere near my wife with a knife is an automatic death sentence. I'd have offed him in a heartbeat.

Good job by the citizen though. He did what he thought was right.

You are correct; a knife can be very deadly, very fast; people tend to think gun trumps knife, but that is not really true unless you have time to draw and fire effectively; a guy with a knife can cover distance and stab you pretty quickly.
Anti-gunners seem to believe that if we just pass enough laws, we can have utopia. Unfortunately, utopia is NOT one of our choices.

Never underestimate a knife in skilled hands. BG was lucky and now has some vacation time coming.

You know if it weren't for those bleeding heart environmental nut cases and there fear of pollution, I'd recommend concrete shoes and a trip to Lake Michigan. I have heard the lake is very refreshing this time of year.
