    Exactly what is an arsenal?

We have a news story in our area today. It has me scratching my head.

If the person was indeed a convicted felon, I believe he would be prohibited gun ownership. Drug paraphernalia was also found.

But, would you call this an arsenal? What does the general public consider an arsenal? (Picture is included of "arsenal" at link.)

To the media an arsenal is more than 10 rounds of ammo and a couple firearms

An arsenal, by main stream morons' standards.... is not nearly enough ammo. (900 rounds... not even a good start)

    Several appear to be collectibles.

Sheesh, I'm shy by a few handguns of that but that just looks like a nice collection. Maybe an arsenal in the hands of a convicted felon according to them, but a very small collection in my terms.

They must have stopped at 14 and said, "Well, that is an 'arsenal' for sure. No need finishing counting."

Doesn't everyone have Derringers in their arsenal? Antique revolvers?

    Sheesh!

I understand that a felon (hasn't been confirmed yet) shouldn't have firearms, but doesn't anyone in the media recognize this is a bit sensational to call this an arsenal?

Maybe both the Derringers only count as 1.

All I see is a couple of assault rifles, some pistols with high capacity clips, hand grenades, and armor piercing cop-killer heat seeking bullets.

I think to the media arsenal is the plural form of gun.

He was breaking laws if the reports are true. I just wish they wouldn't call this amount of firearms (and this type) an arsenal.

Edited to add: And why would he have some of those pictures of himself on FB?
