Bad: Intruders invade Raytown home, hold couple at gunpoint

This is a discussion on Bad: Intruders invade Raytown home, hold couple at gunpoint within the In the News: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly forums, part of the The Back Porch category; I assume shooting at the perps as they're driving off doesn't count as defending yourself against an imminent threat. http://www.kansascity.com/2012/04/11...e-seeking.html...

I guess the perps who were shot at would have to file a complaint...

Here's an update to the story with a happy ending. Seems the home owner tagged the perps car at least a couple of times which was apparently significant in identifying it and them. I'm pretty new castle doctrine etc, but from what I've learned so far, the home owner really shouldn't have been firing at that point. I'm hoping to follow this and see if the home owner ever gets charged. Opinions?http://www.kansascity.com/2012/04/12...town-home.html

That's one way to ID the low life scum!!!!!

As for shooting at fleeing felons, I think it should be absolutely legal.

If this home owner should be charged, it would be an excellent case for jury nullification.

Legal or Illegal I can't say for sure I wouldn't do the same. If anyone points a gun at my wife, I'm typically not too easy going about that...

it counts on what your state law says. in texas you CAN shoot a fleeing felon and someone holding you at gun point fits the bill
