Thank God no one was shot and that the kids reported it ASAP. I'm hoping the kid was just showing-off (stupid) and not out to hurt anyone.
But my wife brought up a good point that maybe the kid was trying to protect himself. Bullying has been a big issue there; unfortunately with my son being a victim as well...

Thats why I take my kids to the range and hunting. If they were to come across a kid with a gun or a find a gun. They would know what to do or not do.
I bet who ever owns that hand gun will be in a world of hurt.

sad how it is that so many of the children are lacking moral compass. partly religion, but more so there are no "great ones" to look up to for insperiation.
2 generations ago children had war hero's and than astronuts and sports figures...not porn on TV, rap and drugs being worshiped

as i've noticed about others--that they do not always do as i think they will nor often as they say they will.
this not only makes life interesting, it makes it dangerous too.

This can happen at any school. There's a kid in my son's class that is a prime candidate to pull something like this (I know the parents as well).
We've talked about what could happen and what he should do.
