There has to be more to this story. Rifle just 'goes off' and kills a young black girl. There's claims that the Remmington rifle may be defective, yet this is labeled a possible racial issue because the guy flys a Confederate flag and had Nazi literature?

Yeah, he hated black people so much that he fired through the wall of his home, through the wall of her home, and hit her where he couldn't see her.

I wish there was more outrage for the frequent daily killings associated with black-on-black crime, but no one seems to care about that. In fact, there is often an effort to obstruct, or at least not cooperate in those investigations. All of the senseless killing needs to stop.
In this particular case, the 700 has known issues. The investigation will tell. And before all of the "that's racist" comments appear, I can assure you that isn't the case.

Why did it take a year for this to become news? Was it resurrected because of a recent incident?
I know someone who had that particular Remminton rifle. He told me that he was chambering a round inside of his garage. When the bolt closed, the rifle discharged without him even touching the trigger. He put the rifle back in the case and has never used it again.
It is a possibility the model does indeed have some issues.
