Good, Bad, and Ugly: 2 men charged with attempted murder of deputy
Deputies: Dislodged bullet case prevented shooting | News - Home
Deputies believe when the two men took the gun away from Corbin, the case that holds the bullets dislodged from the gun. When that happens, the gun will not fire.
Sounds like a mag-release safety really came in 'handy' for this 10-7 JSO deputy.........
We, as a group, know our stuff (so to speak), but the media can be such goobers with their reporting sometimes.
Glad the off-duty deputy got out of that situation with nothing more than a scary and humbling experience to add to his tool-box.

Sure is a good thing the BG's did not have any gun training in their background. Bet that deputy will be having some rough nights the next few weeks...

To be honest you see lots of posters that wonder whether or not they should intervene in situations such as this one,IMHO the Deputy should have called 911 to report the fight and stay out of it,he found out real quick how the 2 fighters turned their aggression on him,and he was quickly outnumbered. He also needs to spend some time at the range practicing firing from retention since the one round he did get off missed at what would be a close contact distance.

The color is off on those photographs, notice the same lipstick shade on the highlight reflected areas of the skin and the ears.
Where is Palatka, Fl ?

Sometimes it's superior skill, and sometimes it's dumb luck.
I'd like to think he had the forethought to tap his "thing that holds the bullits" release as they wrestled the weapom from his grip.
But, that's a lot to hope for!
But either way, I'm glad he survived and God was there for him.
(I read he was a God Fearing man!)

From looking at those mugshots, I'd say it's pretty close to San Fransisco, California...somehow.
Been calling it like I see it since 1988 and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

It's a joke...a joke...

To the OP...
The deputy's first mistake: When they started to attack, Corbin fired his .40 caliber, semiautomatic handgun at the two but missed, investigators said.
A little more work at the range may be needed...I'm just guessin'...

Both of the BG look like they share "Frosted Pink" lipstick. Are they wearing eye liner too?
Officer should not have gotten involved without calling in back up. Especially if it was only a verbal fight. I am so glad his luck held out on this one.
