I have a good friend who used to work loss prevention at a major store.....he stated that the company wants thieves stopped but would not support loss prevention officers in incidents of stopping the thieves. He stated 95 percent of the ones found to be shoplifting got away while waiting for the police to arrive.....he said he had to get out of that profession after a year of the bullcrap....big turnover.....when police are needed their 15 minutes away....lol.....

Police usually come in after the incident to take the insurance report....
The police are not there to protect you from crime, they are there to arrest the guy after the crime has been committed, assuming they find him. It is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family.
