Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog
maybe it's just my "newbness", but a search for "clayton cramer" only turned up one thread with a link to his regular blog.
never heard of it so why should it be a sticky?
The blog is kept up to date and has archives (on the left side). I always check this out every so often to read about recent SD uses of guns. When I first found out about it, I spent more than a few evenings perusing all the incidents.
Honestly, I thought this blog would be more well known on this forum than it apparently is.
Regardless of sticky status, i think this is a good place to check in and see defensive use of handguns and some of the legal (criminal) outcomes.
Edited to add: Many times I've read a post on this board and then go to the blog and find it there.
Yes - it is I think quite well known but - worth a visit for those not aware.
It is a compilation of about all the SD situations that occur and very intriguing reading.

Once upon a time in the Fair Bradyland a knight in shinning armor appeared. His name was Michael A. Bellesiles. Mr. Bellesiles wrote a book named Arming America in which he proved with strong historical records and research that the Good Ole US of A was founded with few weapons and these were locked away for everybody's safety. Mr. Bellesiles also said that the NRA's claims of Gun Rights were all BS and formed after WWII and so on.
As you can imagine, Mr. Bellesiles became the darling of the Antis. He was toasted and celebrated in the Ivory Towers of Academia, given parades through the Morning Talk Shows and even given cash prizes for his most excellent book. The Antis were in 7th Heaven and predicted the end of the NRA and all gun rights as we know it.
Then, a voice was heard from far away. Some weirdo called Clayton Cramer. Mr. Cramer dared to challenge the New Bright and Shinning Armor by saying the book full of BS and the research was bogus. Mr. Cramer was originally dismissed as one of those Gun Nuts but he kept at it relentlessly until the truth strated to come out and the whole world found out that Mr. Bellesiles' book was in fact a fantastic work of lies, misconceptions and forgeries. Mr. Cramer and others eventually showed the world the kind of snake Mr. Bellesiles really was and Mr. Bellesiles was forced to return monies and awards, lost his job at Brown University and his book was condemned to the garbage dump. The knight eventually faded into nothingness and the Antis behaved like he had never existed.
Clayton Cramer also wrote an excellent article called The Racist Roots of Gun Control. In it he does a historic research showing how many of the Anti Gun laws were applied not because a need for law and order but just downright racism. Jim Crow if you like. I consider it mandatory reading, specially when you need data against a Liberal idiot who claims all Gun Owners are a bunch of Klan supporters inbreds.

10-year term in deadly confrontation on hiking trail
and the recent follow-up: Court rules that self defense law applied retroactively
