It just goes to show you that the stand your ground laws are working and working well; store clerks and people are fighting back.

The old crap they used to be taught like" give them the money and nothing will happen" only works at corporate 7-11's anymore.
These guys are being more and more victimized and they had enough

Even at the corporate stores, you can no longer count on the clerk being unarmed. Folks making close to minimum wage aren't that concerned with losing their job if they are caught carrying. There's another minimum wage job right down the street.

It could also have been worse. He could have been unarmed and they could have shot him.

Capt. Allen says the three suspects match the description of suspects from two other robberies this week.
Sounds like they had been busy. I wonder if the other two will be re-evaluating their career choice. Probably not, but hopefully they will get caught and will have lots and lots of time to think about that question.

You would think, but sadly, many are just not learning lessons from events like this. Young people feel invulnerable and think that "it won't ever happen to me". Not a good way to live life, not knowing the next guy they rob will pop them center mass and possibly kill them.

This guy is darn lucky he only was wounded. Hopefully, lesson learned, but sadly, probably not. He will no doubt be back in the trade once he heals and gets cut loose from the Judicial System.

Next headline expect "Robber Shot and Killed by Armed Clerk."

Now that is a good statement. Just think of all of the criminals who would NOT have been caught if they could just follow the traffic laws and not get pulled over and run through the system.

Apart from the good news - that article's formatting on that page is attrocious. Different lines in different font sizes and no reason for it. Just another point about online journalism and quality being oxymorons.

It is due time for the criminal to think twice (if they are capable of thinking rationally). Risk is the same for everyone......criminals shouldn't be able to play without rules that the rest of us have known and lived by for ages. The tables are turning........albeit slowly. The days of easy prey for criminals has moved from the able and capable to the helpless. It's simply easier and less risky these days for a criminal to rob a bank than rob or threaten an average citizen. That's good IMO.......the cops can still play investigation for months after nobody's been harmed in the making of the crime even if the perp walked away or rode a ten speed bike from the scene......but the alert citizen can end their career right then and there while feeling threatened.
