Just another reason I just bought and set up a small safe for our headboard. After about a week of thinking really hard and debating myself I came to a conclusion. I hated to admit it to myself but IMHO it isn't safe to ever have a unsecured gun in your home. It needs to either be on you or secured in one of many ways.
The stupidity of some people NEVER ceases to amaze me.

Agree with this 100%
Education is key, just like anything else in life, a kitchen knife, the gas stove, even power tools, chemicals.. You don't teach them about it, their natural curiosity will sooner or latter.. I for one am not willing to take that risk.. It's the parents responsibility to raise their child in the way he/she should go.

Tell a kid not to touch a gun,and they will touch it,educate them and let them shoot with proper training and gun handling and they will respect it and remember what they were taught.
"Outside of the killings, Washington has one of the lowest crime rates in the country,"
--Mayor Marion Barry, Washington , DC .
