Thomas said it appears that when Downs [28] and another man found the note they got involved in a heated argument over who was responsible for the bull getting out. The fight turned physical before the subjects got into their cars.

Downs then rammed his car into the other man's vehicle in an attempt to push the car into oncoming traffic on Fisherville Road, according to Thomas.

"The subject eludes Mr. Downs and heads back to the property," Thomas said. "And at this time, Mr. Downs brings out a shotgun."

Downs shot two rounds into the ground near the victim's feet and then another into the air, according to the police.
