Two thugs break into a house to steal a flat screen TV. A third is playing lookout.

Mother does what she has to do to protect her children. One thug is shot and killed, another wounded, the last runs away...

The wounded teenager's stepbrother was killed that night by the homeowner (he's 17 years old now, he was 15 or 16 when he and his stepbrother and the third thug committed the home invasion).

The death of his stepbrother causes murder charges in addition to the first degree robbery charges to be filed against the wounded teen under the Felony Murder law.

The jury has returned a guilty verdict. So this young thug may spend the rest of his life behind bars because his stepbrother was killed when they picked the wrong house.

Trial awaits thug number three (the lookout and planner)... Same charges...

That young man is going to the McAlester crossbar hotel. Given Oklahomas phoney sentencing and parole polices i doubt the life in prison thing: But he will get a good long stay.

Actually the law is fair just because he was related to the dead thug doesn't mean he shouldn't be charged.I hope he enjoys life in prison,something tells me thug #3 is gonna be trying to plead to a lesser charge after seeing how fast thug #2 ate it

Everyone thinks/expects this stuff at night in the dark, but the truth is that lots of little criminal thugs skip school to go shopping in their local neighborhoods. Happens all the time in Austin, and usually the little lovelies run, making a bee line for school so they can say, "It wasn't ME! I was at school!!!"

Anyway, it pays to be prepared any time of day or night and realize that you cannot get stuck in the mindset that it will not happen at any time of day or night.

Glad she and the kids were ok, and that she had the tools and the talent to send the packing....uh, and one into the long dirt nap.

Similar incident occurred near here. Same charges. Has not gone to trial yet. Hope it turns out the same way here in Texas.
