Not very much to go on, but at least they returned fire and got a few of the original shooters.

Let the DA sort it out I guess.

I don't ref soccer anymore, but I got darn close to carrying while refereeing. Had my life/well-being threatened more than once and was actually assaulted, albeit "mildly", once.

UPDATE: The people that where getting shot at were the intended targets. It sounds like a gangland shooting to me

Police say all three victims were participating in the annual Marcus Garvey Soccer Tournament when the shootout erupted between various parties.
Hard to tell what occurred. Participants in the event were shot, and "various parties" began shooting at people. Pretty vague.

Soccer's so damn boring there's always more action in the stands than on the field!

Sounds like they were all trying to enjoy a game of soccer then a hockey game broke out. I wonder if they are going to work on the criminal element or shut down the annual event. My guess is whatever's easiest.

One thing I've noticed here in my neck of the woods (Memphis / Nashville), the news media is hesitant to mention gang related crimes. I'm not sure if this is by design or if it is not known at the time? I suspect just like PD'S, they don't like to admit they have a gang problem they can't control, and that effects populations and economics.

Another news media glitch I know is by design is; they will bend over backwards not to mention race, especially black on white hate crime.

Sounded to me like an execution of witness to the previous event then retaliation from the executed persons group.
