For once I agree with you 99 percent. What happened, tin foil hat fall off!
Just kidding!!!! I am opposed to term limits except for POTUS which I think should be 1 7 year term or so. My premise is that if the elctorate got their heads out of their butts and elected folks that know what they are doing and care then it would be nice to keep qualified folks in office.
But of course that is living in an ideal world. Fact is, we the people, the elctorate of the US is responsible for this mess by our votiing habits.
My solution would be to take away the perks (healthcare for life after only serving a term, stuff like that). Have congress be in session twice. 30 days each. That way they don't get use to DC and get their butts back home. But alas......I am dreaming

i just contacted my senators. all of you should do the same. to make it even easier here is my quoted message if you are too lazy to compose one (as i often am).
I am writing you to urge you to vote no on the Cyber security bill with it's newly attached rider to ban high capacity magazines for firearms. The rider is unconstitutional and i feel it infringes on my second amendment rights. I am in your voting district, and i can assure you that if you vote yes on this bill i will be voting against you next election.
here is a site to help you find your senator if you are unsure.

“We can debate where to draw the line of reasonableness, but we might be able to come to an agreement in the middle,” Schumer said. “Maybe, maybe, maybe we can pass some laws that might, might, might stop some of the unnecessary casualties … maybe there’s a way we can some together and try to break through the log jam and make sure the country is a better place.”
I've heard from the Left and I've heard from the Right and I wish I could bet a million bucks against that!

How do you stop it? You stand up and do what you feel is right regardless of the suspected outcome - at least that's my approach. I have Senators Levin and Stabenow to thank for honing this approach. We see the world very differently...
