    Robbers use taser

There was also a gun present. But let's say there wasn't and it was "only" a taser. Shoot or don't shoot (back)?

Shoot back. Just because they present LESS than lethal force it is still force and still not garunteed to be only less.

I wonder if the same sheep who cry that tasers are dangerous and cruel and police shouldnt use them would cruicify a GG using force against a BG with a taser?

Looks like the term "Taser" is being misused in the story. Probably a cheap stun gun. Still a weapon, but not nearly as effective. (and no, I still wouldn't want to be shocked with one)

If it can disable you, even temporarily, I would consider that enough of a threat to shoot.

And you do not know what will happen to you after you are disabled.

Lethal force is justified if someone attempts to tase you due to the fact that when you are unconcious, they would be able to sieze your weapon and use it against you or someone else.

Shoot 'till the slide racks, then re-load in case he brought a friend.
Why?? Because at the last second, the Police are minutes away.

Armed Robbery. The article's headline says a Taser was used, but it fails to mention the robbers also held the victims at gunpoint. Violent felony with an absolutely reasonable fear of threat of imminent death or great bodily harm. Simple situation, it seems to me. Survive it ... at all costs, no matter the cost to the BG's, even if it kills them.

They shouldn't have brought a taser to a gun fight.

I was going to say the last time I checked on the price of a taser they are about $450-500

that would have been the standoff of the year between the cops and robbers, both with tasers.

I been shocked with a stun gun back in the 80's fellow LEO zapped me in the leg,my response was WTH as he held it up and showed me the pretty blue arc.
An actual taser would be bad,he could shoot the probes and zap you before you could get your gun out and they ain't no joke.If somebody threatened me with either one I would consider it a deadly threat

The "taser" is used to gain control over you, for who knows what nefarious purposes. And I believe they should not refered to as less than lethal, but less lethal. Plenty of instances of people dieing from being tased. I would consider it a threat of great bodily harm.
