This is a tough situation, but if my life or the lives of loved ones are in danger (and anyone able to beat someone with rocks is capable of inflicting grave bodily harm), then yes, I would do anything to defend myself and stop the threat.

It is better to die with a weapon in hand than to live with hands raised. (Meir Feinstein, 1947) ...But is far better to raise your hands with a weapon in them and assume a classic Weaver or Isosceles (BenGoodLuck, 2007)
I saw the title of the thread and was getting ready to say something like, "and people are ganna whine that the family had guns in the home with kids."
Now I just dont know what to say. Things like this are the reason why I dont want kids. I have no doubt that I would do my damned best to be a great father but even if I raise a great kid, alot of others of thier generation are ganna screw things up.

Take care of the threat first. Then when its all over you can safely worry about their age, race, religion or whether or not their parents molested them.

I would not hesitate to squeeze the trigger. This is what is wrong with America... 7 years old... seriously? The parents should go to jail as well for failing to raise there children properly. Rid this world of such scum... its kids like these, that start this young, with such violence, that continue on to become repeat offenders...
I would have beet the living snot out of these little pukes. No need for a gun, even with the rocks and sticks they had.

Between me and the dog, I really hope that I wouldn't of had to use anything more powerful than my belt on these kids.

Drop the biggest one first. Once the other two see their buddy twitching in his own pudding they'd beat feet home.
Follow them home and have a "social" with mom and/or dad.

Liberal thought is kind of odd...
They want to hold a man accountable if someone steals a gun from his home and uses it in a crime, but refuse to hold parents accountable for terrible crimes their children commit.![]()

Shoot them? Come on!
You can't take down a 12 or 10 year old so you need to shoot him? (I didn't include the 7 year old since he's just out of kindergarten.) Not good.

I assume your post is towards those physically abled. Some folks have physical handicaps and issues, that would/could easily prevent them from taking down 12,10 and 7 year old boys, especially after being woken up by being hit. A petite woman could likely be overpowered by them in a physical altercation as well.
According to the links, this lady lives in Philly? Who the heck lives in Philly and sleeps without locking the door? Sheesh!
Terrible kids, terrible actions.

We also hold people more responsible for the actions of their animals than we do for the actions of their children. Dog owners are often fined for not controlling their animals. How often are parents fined for not controlling their children? The Government also has to bear some of the blame for the gestapo tactics they sometimes use in the name of preventing child abuse.
