A great quote from the article (and something we need to remember):

local TV website says it was an AR used to shoot the suspects (last picture). One of them shouted out to his buds to shoot the owner and then he started firing.

Turned out about like one would expect.

I drove by there a little while ago. Everything appeared to be cleaned up, a new wall was in place, and the "Open" sign was lit out front.

After the last break-in in 2009, he added bars and a sign that says "24-Hour Armed Guard" to the front of his store.
Maybe criminals will believe that 24-hour armed guard sign now. LOL

Too bad it will, potentially, slow his business down for a bit, but quite a good ending! One rehabilitated for sure, and potentially the other two also!

{edit} Glad it hasnt slowed em down!

We've have a little gang problem around here. They probably saw this as a soft target since the walls were wooden. There's another gun store down the road with reinforced concrete block walls that would be nothing less than premeditated suicide to attempt to rob. My favorite store over in Aiken is no joke either. I doubt we'll see any more gun store robberies for a long while.

Toward the end of the video in the OP the reporter says that the store owner believes in gun control and never wanted to have to use a gun to shoot someone. I wonder what kind of gun control he's talking about?

Well, as an FFL that has had a previous break-in where everything got stolen, I can imagine that he feels the heat from our friends at BATF.
