The man has been identified as Bongkuk Pak, 36.
With a name like that, it's possible he wanted someone to shoot him!!

"The once-promising student-athlete was gunned down Sunday afternoon by a Dairy Queen clerk after Pak, 36, allegedly tried to rob the ice cream shop with a sword, according to an arrest report released Monday afternoon."

    Gunned down? Really?

He was downed by gunfire. True, yes, but it's (of course) a distortion of the situation.

DQ: Weapons at work 'not consistent' with company - FOX5 Vegas - KVVU

Here's a link to the story about the press release which includes a video of the local news coverage. Gotta love the last quoted facebook comment about hiring an armed employee because they don't think employees should be armed.

Far more importantly, IMO: Lack of ability to effectively survive violent attack is inconsistent with life. The guy in the original story just showed how "consistent" it can be.

The pen may be mightier than the sword, but the pistol is mightier than the sword also. Please be sure brain is engaged before muscles are, failure to do so may result in bodily injury or death.
