This kid must be superman, someone should get him some coal cuz if he can set off a bullet by squeezing it he has a very bright future making diamonds. It’s not like a kid would never lie to his parents about hitting the bullet with say a hammer.
On the video you can clearly see the primer has been struck. I would be willing to bet the kid hit it with a hammer or something else.
There is a firing pin indent on that cartridge case primer. Either the kid is fibbing or Dad and the kid both are.
It is impossible to squeeze a cartridge in a human hand and have it detonate. The strongest man in the world "with a grip like iron" couldn't do it.
We may never know exactly how that happened but, we do know how it could not have happened and that would be the way Dad said it happened.
Ever crush a 22LR cartridge in a vise? I have, and it did explode. Different story and not exactly brilliant I know. But...........
They are lying.
Primer was struck with something. Boy did it, and dad 'got rid' of the gun before police arrived. Maybe.
Also, how stupid are the reporters???
News Flash! - Police Investigators discovered this book tucked away on a shelf inside the home of the injured boy.
How To Make ZIP Guns At Home For Fun & Profit by Ima Thugg<~~~:biggrin2:
Seriously - how does this even rate the TV news??? A kid left home alone finds some ammo, starts playing with it, gets hurt. Hardly man-bites-dog news. The only thing newsworthy is that the twit parent believes the kid's story. Maybe he wants to sue somebody.
Guess on top of heavier trigger pull and 10 round or less magazines and all that other stuff we'll need bullet safties now too. Maybe some sort of no hand contact speed loaders. Maybe we just need robots to shoot our guns, yea sure what can go wrong with robots with guns?
My thoughts exactly
